Mini Stipend Opportunity
This is your chance to contribute meaningful field-level insight while qualifying for a $100 stipend! CAPCA is offering a 2026 Mini Stipends opportunity in Crop Steward, with a special emphasis on rat observations.
Crop Steward is free for California PCAs and is designed to make field note entry simple, organized, and useful. Your observations help CAPCA and industry partners better understand pest pressure trends while keeping shared data anonymized at the county level.
Steps to qualify:
- Create a free Crop Steward account or sign in to your existing account
- Log at least six Observations on a minimum of two Blocks
- Include at least two Observations that identify the pest as “rat”
- Complete all Observations by October 15, 2026
- Submit the Stipend Eligibility Form once your required observations are complete
No rat pressure in your fields? That still counts. Reporting zero rat pressure is just as important as reporting high pressure because it helps build a clearer statewide picture.
Stipends are limited to 150 eligible PCAs who complete the required observations and submit the form. Eligibility will be audited before payment checks are issued, and incomplete information may make an entry invalid.
