Position Title: Technical Sales Agronomist

Job Description: We currently have an opening for a Technical Sales Agronomist. We are looking for someone who is goal-oriented, results driven with the ability to create new business and build strong relationships.

To be successful in this fast-paced innovative company, you will work closely with our Sales Team to establish working relationships with key distributors, growers, and consultants, to develop and grow business, in the Southern San Joaquin Valley region, Salinas Valley and Coastal Region of California. In alignment with the Research department, you will coordinate and plan trials in the area and introduce and implement NutriAnalytics platform. You will train and educate NutriAg customers and growers on an ongoing basis and launch new products and technologies as they are developed. In addition, you will have the opportunity to assist in developing marketing plans with our marketing department to implement timely promotional plans for the area.

Experience Required:
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a technical or agronomic role and the production aspect of all crops in the California region.
• Bachelor’s Degree in agriculture or related field
• Computer literate with high competency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, or other data collection and analysis software
• Familiarity with basic aspects of product R&D, field scale product evaluations and demonstrations.
• Highly developed customer service skills with a proven ability to foster strong customer relationships and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Motivated, independent self-starter with results and solution orientation
• Existing contacts within the dealer network would be a definite asset.
• CCA license preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Job Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in preparing fields and spraying operations in crop specialties such as cotton, safflower, alfalfa, wheat, and tomatoes by performing the following duties.

Essential Functions & Duties:

  • Confers with district manager and/or agronomist to evaluate soil and weather conditions and to develop plans and procedures.
  • Inspects fields, observes growing plants and harvested crop and confers with district manager and/or agronomist to determine work requirements for spraying according to time of year and condition of soil, plants, and crops.
  • Determines number and kind of workers needed to perform required work and schedules activities.
  • Inspects work performed, observes instrument and gauge readings, ascertains condition of crop, and performs related duties to verify worker adherence to instructions.
  • Trains workers in work procedures, safety policies, and use of machinery and tools.
  • Supervises the operation of necessary farm machinery.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised.
  • Reports to work in a timely fashion ready, willing, and able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

Account Manager – California

Position Title: Account Manager

Area of Responsibility: The ideal candidate would reside in California (Kern, Tulare, Fresno, Kings, Merced, Madera, Stanislaus counties) and is responsible for supporting the company’s sales activity with assigned customers in California and Arizona.

Time Allocation:
• 70-75% of the Account Manager’s time will be spent managing traditional agricultural crop protection channel customer relationships including, but not limited to, distribution companies, buying groups and independent retailers.
• 20-25% of the Account Manager’s time will be spent working on new business development activities with irrigation input distribution companies including, but not limited to, in-field (commercial) trials, customer, and grower training meetings, technical, product and marketing support.
Duties, Qualifications, & Requirements: Accountabilities:
• Achieve sales and strategic product goals based on key company initiatives.
• Develop good working relationships with various departments within the company.
• Work with Western US Team Leader to build and implement customer business plans.
• Conduct product training with customers and identified growers.
• Maintain an updated database of customers, prospects, influencers, and growers.
• Utilize company’s CRM system as tool to increase sales and customer satisfaction.
• Identify and conduct field demonstrations to grow product and category awareness.

Required skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture; Ag business, Soil Science, Ag Technologies, or related fields.
• 10+ years of sales experience in agriculture required. Sales experience with specialty crop production inputs (i.e. adjuvants, biologicals, plant nutrition, etc.) and (or) crop protection chemistry preferred.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Intermediate computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to travel 60% of the time.
• Pest Control Advisor license, including certification in categories A through G.

Position Title: Agronomy Advisor (Applied Research and Extension) 23-09

Job Description: The CE Advisor will conduct an extension, education and applied research program focusing on crop production and cropping systems. The CE advisor will develop and extend information that optimizes crop production and pest management technologies and also provides leadership in the development of forage cropping systems research in the intermountain sub-region.

Duties, Qualifications, & Requirements: A minimum of a Master’s degree in disciplines such as plant science, agronomy, pest management, crop production, or other closely related field is required by the appointment start date.

Technical competency and demonstrated ability in applied agricultural research and extension techniques.

Ability to build partnerships and to work with multidisciplinary teams to address crop production and environmental challenges.

Ability to work with clientele across a wide range of socio-economic classes and ethnicities is essential.
